The Brownsville Texas Venture Crawl was held at the eBridge Center and hosted by the Brownsville Community Improvement Corporation. It was an evening of networking, pizza, drinks, and insights into the future of business on both sides of the border. The speaker lineup consisted of two panels.

One was a major topic particular to the region, “Brownsville Logistics: Past, Present, and Future” featuring: Steve Perez, founder and GM of Velox Global Solutions; Juan Velez Historic Preservation Officer at the City of Brownsville; Linda Ufland, Director at the UTRGV Entrepreneurship and Commercialization Center; and Jose Ramirez, founder of Law Offices of Jose Antonio Ramirez.

The second panel topic was “Frontera Founders: Inspiring Borderplex Entrepreneurs” featuring: Monica Benavides Rios, Founder of Equilibrium; Roberto Lee, Co-Founder and CEO of Grupo Joseph Roberts; Yaw Sam, Co-Founder and CEO of Brand Genuiz; and William Steele, Co-Founder and CEO of Represent.

Noted legislator, Texas State Representative, Erin Elizabeth Gamez attended as pictured below. She said on her Instagram:

Last night in Brownsville at the eBridge Center I had the pleasure of hearing from some outstanding entrepreneurs, business owners & leaders who spoke on a variety of topics and offered fresh insights into each of their industries. It was an exciting evening of connecting with brilliant minds. Thanks for coming out, y’all!

CS Freeland, Texas Venture Alliance:

So great to see the uniqueness of Brownsville show up also in their venture panels! Some of Brownsville’s Texas Venture Crawl panelists spoke in Spanish while addressing the audience. Also the topic of being so close to Matamoros, Mexico and hearing from successful entrepreneurs able to leverage that as a strength while spotting opportunities is an incredible story to amplify. BCIC also helped make a lot of promotional materials for Texas Venture Crawl in print and digital— I loved their take on it and showed off how really no detail was left overlooked.
