Dallas Regional Chamber Wins Innovation Award For Texas Executives
On June 29, 2023, the Texas Venture Alliance via partnership with the Texas Chamber of Commerce Executives’ Conference, awarded the Dallas Regional Chamber’s President & CEO, Dale Petroskey as the first Innovation Award winner. This new award category recognizes excellence in the venture and startup ecosystem.
The Innovation Award not only celebrates their important work and leadership in the Dallas region, but also inspires other chambers across Texas to consider their role in innovation as well. Learn more here.

Dallas-Fort Worth has seen an explosion of growth in startups, incubators, and accelerators to complement the corporate headquarters and financial service brands the city is known for. The fresh startup ecosystem continues to benefit from Dallas’ pro-business community and growing economy.

Major venture firms like Interlock Partners, Mark Cuban Companies, Capital Factory, Cypress Growth Capital invest across biotechnology, IT, consumer goods and aerospace industries. Dallas also has the largest concentration of family offices that are actively investing in tech.
Business Environment
Dallas-Fort Worth is a magnet for corporate headquarters and regional offices. Dallas is home to 22 of America’s 500 largest companies such as AT&T, American Airlines, Southwest Airlines, Texas Instruments, Toyota, and many more. Additionally, July 2019 – July 2022, Dallas added the most jobs in the United States, making it one of the fastest-growing cities in the US.
“Our economic diversity is unlike and is better than any other metropolitan region in the United States,” said Hillwood CEO Mike Berry to the Forth Worth Star Telegram about Fort Worth “Look at our backbone industries: aerospace and defense, energy, transportation and logistics, and financial services. I mean we have a story to tell to a wide variety of industries and companies”.
The Fort Worth Star Telegram went on to say The Metroplex has the greatest industry diversity among major Texas cities, according to data from commercial real estate agency JLL.
