Recap: Printed Houses & Powerful Partnerships

June 21, 9am - 11am
Camp Mabry, Austin, Texas

The Texas Venture Alliance was pleased to offer a VIP hard hat tour featuring ICON, the construction technology company, and the Texas Military. Investors and startups from the Texas Venture Alliance network were exclusive guests for this experience to see the 3D printed Innovation Center printed live and onsite at the historic Camp Mabry.

This public private partnership is a great example of Texas-based defense innovation from a Austin-founded and based startup. We also learned that Camp Mabry was the headquarters of what was once the Republic of Texas, when Texas existed independently before joining the United State. Our group of investors and startups asked some really great questions of which representatives from both ICON and Texas Military were able to answer. Thank you to our friends at the National Security Innovation Council who hosted a previous event inspiring us to extend the experience to our greater venture & venture-backed startup community.

The event was hosted outside and was guided by the itinerary below. We’ve included a few photos as well. Thank you to our leadership team and members in attendance: Chris De Ayala (board member), Marc Adesso (board member), Raymond Kaminski (board member), Steve Guengerich, Chris Gonzales, David Neff, Jose Ortega, and more. Thank you to our sponsors Pacific Western Bank and Akerman, as our go-to law firm.
