How To Venture Across Texas

Texas, as the second largest state in the country with an expansive 100k square miles more than California, offers abundant opportunities for business and networking across Texas. A goal of the Texas Venture Alliance is not only to amplify venture activity across the state, but to help foster connections.

See this post as a list of ways the community from regions around Texas can work together beyond city limits. Here are some pointers we’ve organized below.

  1. Sign up for the newsletter to be up-to-date and see events around the state, here.

  2. Let your network know about interesting events you notice in their city. You can forward an email, tag them in a post, invite them easily via a LinkedIn event button, etc.

  3. When planning to visit a city in Texas, share in a LinkedIn post a short background about you, who you’d be interested in meeting (by industry, stage, etc), and how long you’re in town for.

  4. If you’re a TVA member, let us know ahead of time and we’ll promote your visit into the city you’re visiting.

  5. Transportation such as JSX to fly, and Vonlane to bus to another city, are great experiences and perfect for business travel.

  6. Remain in contact with your new connections via LinkedIn or Twitter as to keep apprised of their updates and stay in touch from afar.

  7. Check out the featured organizations in each city on the Texas Venture Crawl— they have exciting news that we will promote, and are active members of the community.

  8. Consider signing up and attending a Venture Crawl in another city to grow your connections outside of your hometown.
