Professional Biography

Shiri Freund Koren is a highly experienced business development professional with expertise in identifying disruptive innovation and facilitating strategic global partnerships. In her role at the BIRD Foundation, Shiri is responsible for identifying promising companies for joint R&D with Israeli noble technologies in the Southern United States. In addition, she coordinates the US-Israel Energy Center.

Ms. Freund Koren has a strong background in the Israeli Cleantech, Agtech and Water sectors. She has worked closely with the Israeli Economic Ministry to promote promising Israeli start-ups in the US market. Prior to joining the BIRD Foundation, she worked for the Neaman Institute for National Policy Research, an Israeli Think Tank, where she specialized in these sectors. With her extensive knowledge and experience, Ms. Freund Koren is able to initiate and foster global business collaborations, while also seeking out opportunities for synergistic collaboration between Israeli and American companies.

She is a graduate of the Technion with an M.Sc. in Physical-Chemistry, which has provided her with a strong scientific background to complement her business development skills.
