Professional Biography

Nathan Alexander Burkhart is an economic developer and marketing executive with international academic and work experience. His skills range from business development and ecosystem building, to corporate branding and project management in the financial services, consulting, and marketing industries. Nathan has managed complex strategic initiatives, analyzed business operations, navigated bureaucratic relationships, and implemented process improvements using a data-driven approach.

Nathan is a trusted business partner to executive and political leaders, providing applicable and actionable recommendations. He is passionate about diversity, equality, and inclusion in the workplace and community, and has a proven ability to thrive in fast-paced, professionally-rigorous settings, managing multiple assignments and quickly evolving priorities.

Nathan understands the importance of policy making and entrepreneurship-led economic development, and has created community centered programs that have gained international awards. He strategically develops programs and incentives for startup growth and development with the end goal of creating an equitable and sustainable ecosystem of entrepreneurship in the Rio Grande Valley (RGV).

Nathan was the lead project manager, designer and developer of the eBridge Center for Business and Commercialization, the largest startup incubator and entrepreneurial resource center of its kind in the RGV. He is focused on creating an inclusive local community by providing support and guidance for minority and LGBTQIA+ businesses, developing corporate relations, and establishing bespoke professional networking groups.

Nathan volunteers as a board member for ‘Come Dream Come Build,’ the largest non-profit affordable housing developer in Texas. He is part of the Startup Champions Network, driving long-term change by supporting innovation and entrepreneurship while working to reduce barriers for all entrepreneurs.

Nathan holds a Master of Business Administration from the University of Texas Rio Grande Valley, a Bachelor of Business Administration with a concentration in Marketing & Government from the University of Texas at Austin - McCombs School of Business, and studied International Marketing and Cross-Cultural Negotiation at the École Supérieure de Commerce de Paris.
